Large, round, and lifeless, its eyes – or rather, the grotesque substitutes that occupied their sockets – resemble cracked buttons sewn into place. The Other doesn’t just see you; it sees through you, exposing every hidden fear and regret with its unblinking, button eyes. For once you meet its soulless stare, The Other’s grip will hold you there.
